Massa delighted with strong qualifying

Felipe Massa has expressed his delight of qualifying third for the British Grand Prix and securing Williams’ best qualifying result of the season.

Williams have been consistently the third fastest team in 2015 however out-qualified both Ferrari’s who will start on the third row.

Massa leads Bottas 6-3 in the qualifying head-to-head and admits he is enjoying the battle against his younger team-mate.

“It was a fantastic day for us at our home Grand Prix and it’s great to have us P3 and P4. I enjoyed fighting closely with Valtteri and exchanging lap times. The wind into Copse was really strong and that affected the balance of the car, so I made sure to be cautious and not to waste a lap by running wide.”

The Brazilian is confident of keeping the Ferrari’s behind  and securing his first podium at the British Grand Prix in his career.

”It’s very important for us to show that we have the pace to get both cars ahead of everyone except from Mercedes. Tomorrow won’t be easy but we are ready for it and it will be an exciting race.”
