Red Bull confident of making first test of 2016

Red Bull says there are no doubts that they will be at the first test of 2016 despite doubts over which power unit they will use next season.

Speaking in today’s FIA press conference at Interlagos, Paul Monaghan confirmed Red Bull would be at the test and are currently working on an engine deal.

“We are working towards a deal and if one can be achieved then it’ll be announced in time,” he said. “But we’ll still make it, don’t worry.”

Red Bull are expected to remain with Renault in 2016 despite their constant criticism of the French manufacturer since the introduction of the V6 turbo engines at the start of 2014.

Red Bull eyed either a Mercedes or Ferrari engine for 2016, but both refused to supply the Milton Keynes based squad with one.

Earlier today, team boss Christian Horner confirmed to the media that the team has entered the 2016 championship.
