Felipe Nasr is excited about driving Sauber’s new 2016 car after continuing his practice for the new season by completing the final competitive laps of the C34’s lifespan in Barcelona.
The Brazilian set a lap time of 1:26.053 to finish the fourth day of the first test sixth fastest after driving 121 laps.
Nasr described his day’s programme after the session: “It was again a very intensive day. I collected a lot of mileage while driving the C34 for the last time. In the morning our programme was dedicated to tyre evaluation. I did many short runs on soft tyres.
“After the lunch break we mainly focused on set-up work and at the end of the session I was able to do a long run. Now I am very much looking forward to driving the new C35 next week.”
The new Sauber will be debuted at the first day of the second test next week. Nasr will spend the first and third days in the cockpit of the new C35, with teammate Marcus Ericsson taking over for the second and fourth days of testing.
