Force India owner Vijay Mallya has confirmed Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez will remain with the team for a fourth consecutive season in 2017.
Hulkenberg and Perez will remain with the team for a four consecutive season. During their time together, they have helped the team secure their best finish in the constructors’ championship in 2015 by finishing fifth.
Before Ferrari’s announcement earlier today, Perez had been continually linked with the Scuderia, however, they have opted to keep Raikkonen for a fourth consecutive season.
“I can confirm that both the drivers are signed up for 2017,” Mallya told the media at Silverstone. “They are a fine pair, both absolutely top class. I’ve never believed in ‘pay drivers’ where talent or ability is compromised.
“I always try to hire the best drivers we can afford. I am very happy with both Checo and Nico.”
Force India, Ferrari and Red Bull have retained their two drivers for next season with Mercedes expected to confirm Nico Rosberg for another season at the next race in Budapest.
