Racing Engineering’s Norman Nato will start on pole position for the GP2 Feature Race at Silverstone after being cleared of setting his fastest lap under red flag conditions.

His time was completed just before the red flags were deployed for  Oliver Rowland’s stricken MP Motorsport car meaning Nato will take his first GP2 pole position.

Red Bull junior Pierre Gasly joins Nato on the front row of the grid meaning it is an all French lock-out on the weekend France take on Portugal in the finals of the European Championships.

DAMS’ Nicholas Latifi was an impressive third, he managed to extract the maximum from the DAMS car whilst Alex Lynn struggled on home soil and was only 17th.

Despite setting the fifth fastest time of qualifying, Sergey Sirotkin will be forced to start from the pitlane after missing the weighbridge during qualifying.

Antonio Giovinazzi, Mitch Evans, Jordan King, Artur Pic and Oliver Rowland rounded out the top 10 positions in qualifying but will all be promoted by one place after Sirotkin’s disqualification.
