Despite losing the championship lead once again this season in Singapore, Lewis Hamilton is confident that he can fight back against team mate Nico Rosberg with just six races to go.
Speaking about the events of the previous race he said: “Singapore was a difficult weekend for me, so to come away with a podium in the circumstances was pretty good damage limitation.”
“Ultimately, Nico did an exceptional job and I didn’t have my best weekend. But that’s the way it goes. We’re both fiercely competitive.”
Only having won once in Malaysia in his career in 2014, Hamilton has always gone well at the Sepang circuit finishing on the podium in four consecutive races since 2012.
With unpredictable conditions always on the cards with the tropical climate and rain that could bubble up without a moment’s notice, the race could turn on its head at a moments notice.
Speaking ahead to this weekend’s Grand Prix Hamilton added: “It’s going to take some good results to get back in front and stay there but I’ve had plenty of those in the past, so there’s no reason to think they won’t come back to me again.
“Sepang is my first shot at it and I’m really looking forward to getting out there. It’s a track I usually go pretty well at.”
Hamilton tweeted this just a few days ago showing he is looking forward to getting back in his W07.
