Anthoine Hubert has been announced as the final driver in ART Grand Prix’s line-up for the 2017 GP3 season.
The 20-year-old Frenchman is set to drive their number #4 machine, joining Jack Aitken, Nirei Fukuzumi and George Russell at the team.
Hubert tested with the outfit for two days during post-season testing in Abu Dhabi in December, finishing fifth on day two before being unable to finish his final day in the car after crashing at Turn 7 of the Yas Marina Circuit.
He graduates from the European Formula Three series where he spent one season in 2016, winning his maiden race at the second event of the Norisring weekend. Hubert finished in eighth place in the Drivers’ Championship.
This is the third time during pre-season that a driver has made the step up from F3, joining Russell and Arden driver Niko Kari in moving to the Formula 1 feeder series.
Hubert’s racing experience includes winning the French F4 championship in 2013 before winning races in the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC and Eurocup championships in 2015.
