The Marc VDS Racing Team end the final day of testing from Jerez top of the pile once again, with KTM’s Miguel Oliveira close behind.
Franco Morbidelli led home team-mate Alex Marquez at the end of Thursday’s action, but it was a role reversal on Friday with the 2014 Moto3 world champion edging the number 21.

Marquez set the timing screens ablaze straight from the off, ending the first session of the day half a second under the outright lap record with a 1m41.989s. He failed to beat this in the day’s following two sessions, but crucially nor could anyone else.
Morbidelli slotted in just over a tenth behind, with KTM’s Miguel Oliveira back up at the sharp-end in third. Team-mate Brad Binder wasn’t quite as quick down in 26th, but the South African has been suffering with the after effects of his arm-breaking crash in Valencia last year.

Kiefer Racing’s Dominique Aegerter put in a promising performance on the new Suter frame, the Swiss rider clocking a 1m42.336s to go fourth fastest. Gresini’s Jorge Navarro completed the top five as he continued to adapt to Moto2 machinery ahead of his debut in the series this season.
Italtrans Racing’s Mattia Pasini has hovered about inside the top six all week, and capped the test off with the sixth best time. Honda Team Asia’s Takaaki Nakagami, Pons’ Fabio Quartararo, RW Racing’s Axel Pons and Interwetten’s Tom Luthi completed the top 10.
Luca Marini remained the sole Forward Racing representative this week after team-mate Lorenzo Baldassarri pulled out of Wednesday’s running with an inflamed tendon in his arm.
Marini ended the test 11th ahead of Kiefer’s Danny Kent, Moto2 returnee Yonny Hernandez, Petronas Raceline Malaysia’s Hafiz Syahrin and Pons’ Edgar Pons.
The Moto2 field will be back in action on March 17 at the Losail International Circuit for three final days of pre-season testing.
