Van Amersfoort Racing will field four cars in this weekend’s European Formula 3 meeting for the first time since David Beckmann left the team after the Pau Grand Prix.

Beckmann switched to Motopark from the Hungaroring round onwards and has since taken four points finishes. For four rounds, Van Amersfoort had only fielded Pedro Piquet, Harrison Newey, and Joey Mawson.

Max Defourny will complete the Dutch squad’s line up with a one-off appearance at the Nurburgring round as he evaluates his options for 2018.

“Of course I am really happy to be here this weekend and have the opportunity to drive at the Nurburgring with Van Amersfoort Racing,” he said.

“We will obviously do our best on both sides to get the best out of it and see what it holds up for the future.”

Defourny is currently in his second full season in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, fourth in the standings with two rounds remaining.

The 18-year-old finished third in the championship last season, as well as competing in the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC, where he finished second to current F3 points leader Lando Norris.
