For the first time since 2013, Sebastian Vettel claimed the championship lead with a victory in 2017’s season opener. With four wins and 10 podiums, Vettel retained the championship lead until last weekend.
In front of the Ferrari home crowds, Vettel’s title rival Lewis Hamilton took his sixth win of the season and moved three points ahead of Vettel in the championship fight.
Momentum seems to have swung in Hamilton’s favour, but the season is far from over. With seven races remaining, keeping the championship lead until the season finale in Abu Dhabi at the end of November won’t be an easy task.
Both Hamilton and Vettel face strengths and struggles in the upcoming races.
From the qualifying fight to challenges from within their own team, we look at the title battle so far and what we can expect from the remainder of the season.
