Jake Hughes held off a late attack from Lando Norris to take his first European Formula 3 win of the season at the Nurburgring.

After passing Callum Ilott early in the race, Norris waited until the final handful of laps to close the three second gap to polesitter Hughes, but ran out of time before he could make a move. He finished just half a second behind Hughes, but once again extended his gap at the top of the championship as title rival Maximilian Gunther failed to score.

Callum Ilott finished third, fending off Tadasuke Makino who took his second fourth place of the weekend.

Ralf Aron was promoted to fifth when Guanyu Zhou span after running onto the wet astroturf.

Ferdinand Habsburg and Joey Mawson finished sixth and seventh whilst Harrison Newey won the battle for eighth.

Joel Eriksson and Jehan Daruvala managed to find a way past Nikita Mazepin to take the final points paying positions.
