After a long winter break, Formula 1 was back this weekend with the Australian Grand Prix.
Preseason testing left a lot of questions to be answered: would Ferrari be able to compete with Mercedes? Would Red Bull be able to challenge at the front? And who would be worse off, Honda or McLaren?
The first question appeared to be answered in qualifying, with a stunning lap from Lewis Hamilton putting him on pole by 0.7s. But luck swung in Ferrari’s favour on race day and a loose wheel nut on Romain Grosjean’s Haas turned the lead battle on its head.
First blood went to Sebastian Vettel, who took his second consecutive Australian victory, but there are still plenty of unknowns heading into the second race of the season.
